Alert Services: Alert services send subscribers email updates about new content added to periodical database or journal websites. Also called current awareness services, these automatic updates are a way of keeping current with newly published research in one's field. Contact Michelle Eichelberger (Ext. 6458) for more information about how to set up these alerts.
Each publisher and/or vendor may offer one or more of the options below:
- Saved search alerts: Receive email notification of recent articles that match your search criteria
- Table of Contents (TOCs): Select journal titles for which you'd like to receive tables of contents for new issues by e-mail
Library Materials: Check out new additions to the library's physical collection.
Chronicle of Higher Education: the library maintains an online subscription for your reading pleasure.
Table of Contents Service
Would you like to keep current with the publications in your field, but can’t make it to the library to browse the journals?
Sign up for the library’s Table of Contents service!
Library staff will scan the Table of Contents of journals related to your subject area that we subscribe to and email them directly to you. If you see an article that you would like to read, we’ll scan it and send it to you. Want to read the whole issue? We’ll check it out to you.
Go to: http://www.genesee.edu/library/find-articles/print-periodicals/ to see a full list of the library's print periodicals. Contact Cindy Hagelberger (Ext. 6231) and let her know which periodicals you'd like to review. Each time a new issue of a selected journal arrives at the library, we’ll send the Table of Contents to you.
