Many library resources can be accessed from off-campus to provide all students, faculty, and staff with immediate and ongoing access to materials needed for assignments and research.
When using many of the databases and other e-resources from off-campus, you may be prompted for your GCC network username and password. Once you enter this information, you'll be able to use the databases, e-journals, and e-books just as if you were on campus. For more information, click here.
Although the Alfred C. O'Connell Library would like to offer open access to all information resources, license agreements with the publishers of our online databases, e-journals, and e-books require that only current GCC students, faculty, and staff be given access to these resources.
Libraries have been adapting and expanding collections, services, and environments to keep pace with a constantly changing digital world and are a critical component of student learning. The links below lead to core resources for students and faculty.
The library subscribes to a large number of periodicals in both print and electronic formats to support the research and learning needs of students and faculty. Because periodical subscriptions represent an ongoing financial commitment, they are reviewed annually for subscription decisions. Librarians consult with faculty and directors to select new titles for new programs or to enhance current or modified programs. Cost, access, and availability factors will be considered in making format decisions.
Please contact Cindy Hagelberger if you would like to request a periodical or a database. Before requesting a periodical, please check our online list of periodicals to see if we already have access to your selection.
