    Free. Apple and Android. Multimedia news portal developed by The Associated Press that provides anytime access to international, national and local news.
  • CountryWatch
    $2.99. Apple and Android. Provides specific geopolitical intelligence on over 200 independent countries and sovereign states in the world. It includes current and historical statistics, news and maps.
  • Ebscohost Mobile App

    Free. Apple and Android. Get app by scrolling to bottom of the Ebscohost database screen (link above) and clicking on New: Ebscohost iPhone and Adroid app. You will be prompted to enter your email. You'll receive an email message with authentication info and a link to the free app. The app will not work without the authentication info.
  • Gale's AccessMyLibrary

    Free. Apple and Android. When prompted for username use genesee and leave email address box blank. Note: this app content is not fully mobilized and is equivalent to accessing Gale databases via the library's A to Z list with your mobile device web browser.

    This app has been discontinued as of July 1, 2014.

    Free app for creating and reading QR codes, also tracks QR code usage.
  • Dragon Dictation
    For iphone, iPod touch, iPad. Free voice recognition software for use with email, document creation, etc.
  • Google Maps
    Free mapping software from Google.
  • Layar
    Free augmented reality app that overlays information about such subjects as restaurants, public transit options, and apartment-search information on the view from your smartphone's camera.
  • RedLaser
    Among other features, this app lets you scan a book barcode and it will locate a copy of it in a nearby U.S. library. The book search is powered by WorldCat, the world's largest library catalog.

  • Toggl
    Free application that tracks how much time was spent working on a project
  • Trello
    A project management service that lets you keep track of what needs to be accomplished, what is being worked on, and what you have already completed
